We have been following the investigation of the murder of Florida State Professor Dan Markel – a case that has cast suspicions on the family of his ex-wife and fellow professor Wendi Adelson. Much of this suspicion has been drawn to Adelson’s brother and that suspicion has been magnified with a new and bizarre disclosure that Charlie Adelson paid for half of a breast enhancement surgery for the girlfriend of one of the accused killers.
Police have been investigating the death of Ronald Bettig, 56, an associate professor of media studies, who was found at the bottom of a cliff at a quarry after felling 80 feet. They have now arrested Danelle Geier, 32, who lived with Bettig as well as George Ishler Jr., 39, who was charged with first- and third-degree murder, conspiracy, aggravated assault and evidence-tampering.

Now one of the culprits, Ahmad al-Faqi al-Mahdi, pleaded guilty to destroying religious monuments in the ancient city. After destroying centuries of artifacts, al-Mahdi now expresses remorse before the International Criminal Court.
Vanessa Young, 26, and Crystal Young have the distinction of allegedly robbing a nun of her rosary at knife point on Sunday. Since they have pleaded not guilty, I would strongly suggest a bench trial.

There is an interesting twist in the Clinton email scandal. One of the most surprising elements of Hillary Clinton’s statements to the FBI was her insistence that it was former Secretary of State Colin Powell who convinced her to use a private email server. Clinton told investigators that Powell not only advised her to use a private email system but made it his one piece of advice when prompted by a third former Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright. Now, Powell has come out with a seemingly angry denial of the account and has said that Clinton’s “people have been trying to pin it on me.”
