The London Sunday Times has published the results of an investigation that allegedly show that officials from six countries were involved in a scheme by Japanese officials to buy votes on the International Whaling Commission (IWC).
A Phoenix officer is facing felony charges for allegedly stealing from drug dealers. The story details the allegations against James Wren, 23, of suspicion of conspiracy, attempted theft, attempted money laundering and aiding a criminal syndicate.

Thomas Peno is apparently not a man to sit idle when he can be working. Connecticut police say Peno found himself waiting during a break in a courtroom where he was supposed to address larceny charges . . . so he allegedly used the down time to break into cars around the courthouse.
New York prosecutors have charged a woman with criminal adultery after she was arrested allegedly during a tryst with a man in a public park. Suzanne Corona, 41, is the 13th person charged with adultery in New York since 1972. I have previously written about the unconstitutionality of these laws.

This is a frightening story. In Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Joleen Stupar, 40, was found passed out in her running minivan with her 3-year-old car strapped in the back. She was found to have been driving with a blood alcohol level that was five times the legal limit.

Things were not-so-pleasant in a wedding in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina this week when Downing Deese, 26, pulled up in a boat with friends on Shem Creek. Deese says that he was “inspired” by the wedding to repeatedly expose himself during both the ceremony and reception.

Questions have been raised over the police actions leading to the falling of porn actor and murder suspect Stephen Clancy Hill (aka Steve Driver) off a cliff in California. Police reportedly tasered Hill despite the fact that he was perched on the cliff, but the video below is unclear whether he jumped or fell.

We have an interesting case here in my backyard in Fairfax County, Virginia. A Fairfax County jury deliberated only 10 minutes before acquitting Sean Lanigan, 43, a popular schoolteacher and coach of aggravated sexual battery and abduction. The jury’s reaction and the paucity of evidence in the case has led some to question why prosecutors brought the case in the first place. They were back within 47 minutes to find him innocent on all charges.

Oregon parents are saying that Luke Kishpaugh, 33, of Salem (Oregon) is someone you do not want around your kids, your parks, your pets . . . well, you just don’t want him around. Kishpaugh was in a city park when he saw children watching a rabbit play in the grass. Kishpaugh reportedly smirked and released his Doberman Pinscher to catch and kill the rabbit — in front of the terrified children.
Former President George W. Bush proudly proclaimed this week “Yeah, we water-boarded Khalid Sheikh Mohammed . . I’d do it again to save lives.” Fortunately, he will not be given another chance but, due to the actions of President Obama and Attorney General Holder to bar any investigation or prosecution of torture, future presidents may well indeed to do it again.

Now this is an interesting case for statutory interpretation. Police were called this weekend to Rehoboth Beach in Delaware after a group of transgender males exposed their “acquired breasts” — leading to complaints. This must have been the missing episode from Bay Watch.
