The Smokeless Churchill: Musuem Displays Picture With Churchill’s Iconic Cigar Airbrushed Away into History

A London Museum has triggered a controversy when it displayed an iconic picture of Sir Winston Churchill on its exterior with his equally iconic cigar airbrushed away into history. The well-known photograph shows Churchill with the cigar firmly in his clenched teeth, but the visitors to the exhibit Churchill’s Britain At War Experience are greeted with a smoke-free version. I suppose Churchill himself would take it in good humor and simply repeat his prior observation that “once in a while you will stumble upon the truth but most of us manage to pick ourselves up and hurry along as if nothing had happened.”

Polish Police Arrest First Suspect in the Dubai Assassination

Things may have gotten more serious for Israel in the ongoing controversy of the assassination of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai. Interpol is looking for the agents involved in the operation with the aid of pictures from their false travel documents. Now, one of the alleged Mossad agents involved has been arrested in Poland and is being sought for extradition to Germany.

Galileo Gives Finger to Florence

Tourists are flocking to see a rather gruesome display in Florence, Italy. The Museum of the History of Science has re-opened after years of renovation with a display of two of Galileo’s fingers. These fingers have been added to a pre-existing finger and tooth from the astronomer. The museum has been renamed The Galileo Museum — fitting since he is an actual part of the collection.

Hoax: Video Showing Heavy Weapons Discovered on Mavi Marmara is a Fraud

A video has been racing around the Internet — purportedly showing heavy weapons discovered behind bags of flour on the Mavi Marmara. The find would serve to justify the lethal raid on the flotilla to Gaza and some posters have asked why no uproar? The answer is because the video is a fraud — it shows a boat that was actually searched in 2009.

Israel Admits to Editing Flotilla Tapes and Issues “Clarification” on Offensive Comments Attributed to the Mavi Marmara

After Israel released a tape purportedly showing passengers on the Mavi Marmara making inflammatory comments, many questioned the authenticity of the tapes and charged that they had been edited. Leaders on the ship said that they never radioed the IDF to tell them “Go back to Auschwitz” and that they are “helping Arabs go against the U.S., don’t forget 9/11.” Now, the IDF has issued an unedited tape and admitted that the earlier version was edited. It also admits that it is not clear that these comments came from the Mavi Marmara.

Egyptian Court Upholds Ruling Stripping Citizenship From Men Who Marry Israeli Woman
