Inclement Weather or Divine Critique: Lightning Destroys Massive Jesus Statue in Ohio

In Monroe, Ohio, the evangelical Solid Rock Church just north of Cincinnati had something of an unexpected divine intervention. The church had erected a “King of Kings” statue that towered over the surrounding area — 62 feet tall and 40 feet wide at the base. This week lightning struck the statue — destroying it and spreading the fire to the adjacent amphitheater.

A video has been racing around the Internet — purportedly showing heavy weapons discovered behind bags of flour on the Mavi Marmara. The find would serve to justify the lethal raid on the flotilla to Gaza and some posters have asked why no uproar? Nun Excommunicated After Supporting Abortion To Protect Life of Mother

While the Catholic Church may be criticized for covering up crimes by priests and resisting efforts to discipline offenders, it seems to waste to time with errant nuns. Sister Margaret McBride has been excommunicated for the offense of approving an abortion to protect the life of a mother as a senior administrator of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix. There does not even appear to be any room for mitigating circumstances in such a case. Bishop Thomas Olmstead (left) immediately excommunicated McBride.
