The likeness was so close that the girlfriend was unable to spot the trick until she noticed the telltale absence of a cowboy tatoo on his left buttocks.

British MP Under Attack for Walking Out of Segregated Wedding in East London

FitzpatrickMP Jim Fitzpatrick is under fire by the large Muslim population in East London after he and his wife left a wedding party when they were told that it was segregated by gender due to the Islamic faith of the couple. Tory candidate Tim Archer attacked Fitzpatrick, saying that he “is playing a certain race card to save his skin at the next election.”

Taliban Cut Off Fingers of Women Voting in National Elections

250px-Election-2004The Taliban has made good on its horrific promise to cut off the fingers of people with the tell-tale dye stains on their fingers after voting in the national elections. This does not surprise me about these extremists who believe any atrocity in the name of Allah is permitted. What astonishes me is that the Afghan government continues to use the dye technique when it allows for such retaliation.

Marriott Blames Mother Raped in One of Its Garages in Tort Lawsuit

Marriott now asserts that the 40-year-old mother was responsible in the attack, failed to “mitigate their damages,” and has sought discovery from friends and neighbors. The move led to a predictable backlash among the public.

Police Officer Fired (and Three Suspended) for Photo of Twin Peaks Waitress Holding Assault Rifle

image5257170xA Twin Peaks restaurant advertises scantily dressed waitresses and a “fun, friendly and sometimes flirty atmosphere.” It was a bit too much for Texas police officers who had a waitress pose on their police cruiser holding an assault rifle. Sheriff Gary Painter fired one officer Daniel Subia, 30, and suspended three others.

Two New York Criminal Defense Attorneys Convicted of Witness Tampering

Simelspicture-WebCriminal defense attorney and television commentator Robert Simels, 62, has been convicted in Brooklyn of plotting to kill witnesses. Also convicted was attorney Arienne Irving, 31, who was convicted of witness tampering. The jury only acquitted Simels on one count dealing with false statements after deliberating for seven days.

This video from 2004 raises some disturbing questions where a former BYU professor Tom Lowery is tasered in court during a rambling argument. It is clear that the use of the force, in my view, was unnecessary and improper — particularly in a court of law.

Six Police Officers Shoot Man 43 Times in Self-Defense — Stopping to Reload in Three Volleys

There is no question that Heyward was carrying a rifle around his neighborhood and ranting about suicide. However, it was the response to the danger that has people demanding answers: the six officers fired 59 rounds at him — hitting him 43 times. The officers fired three volleys and stopped to reload before continuing to shoot the man.

Law Professor and Leading Massachusetts Lawyer Accused of Involvement in the Illegal Home Pot Growing Business

twiltonCookTimothy Wilton, a professor at Suffolk University Law School, and Kathy Jo Cook, former president of the Women’s Bar Association of Massachusetts, have been accused by their son (and stepson) of knowledge of his drug dealing and home pot growing operation. Jonathon Cook, 20, told police that they not only knew that he was growing marijuana in his room but that his mother told him to destroy the pot when police were called about a shooting at their home. Wilton and Cook publicly denied the allegations.
